+ + + News: Avalanches destroy Everest Base Camp + + +

Following a catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquake, Nepal lies in a state of devastation. The death toll has risen to 3200 people not including the many left injured and missing.

3D Reality Maps accompanied the German climber Jost Kobusch live on his way to the summit of Lhotse. Jost sends his GPS coordinates on a daily basis, which are then displayed in the 3D map.  According to our live tracking he is currently on his way south returning from base camp. Our thoughts are with him and the many affected by the earthquake in the region.

The challenge - Everestmillion

Daniel Hughes from London, has devoted his last two years training for the biggest challenge of his life - the ascent of Mount Everest. With this action he wants to achieve the support of one million people giving 1 pound each for his charity campaign called EverestMillion.

Mount Everest Expedtion 2012

3D RealityMaps was chosen by National Geographic to track two of it's sponsored teams on their way to the summit of the highest mountain on Earth. The expedition tried to repeat the historical ascent of Mount Everest in 1963 sponsored by National Geographic - more than 50 years after the first American triumph at the top.

Although the expedition failed, many thousands of users participated online live and participate in the virtual tour to the summit of the highest mountain on earth.

RealityCheck: Ascent of Island peak

In November 2011 a team of 3D Reality Maps climbed the Island peak in the Himalayas. On the way to the summit they made ​​fascinating photographs and described their experience in a tour diary.
